Hello reader. I haven't written in way too long. I fail and I would understand if you halted your reading right at this moment and post about me on failblog. I would understand and not be offended.

team is going to the Poinsettia bowl and finished 8-4. We ball it up. The random

fountain of knowledge named Nasa informed me that we are the only team in the NCAA with a 3000+ yard passer, 1000+ rusher, and TWO 1000+ receivers. Take that. Also some private donor has

personally offered 5 million bones to keep Brady Hoke. I would personally like to commend them. I also blame Marshall Faulk.

Continuing the Aztec trend, one word, PWNAGE. Our Aztec's dismantled St. Mary's last night. Our basketball te

am is legit, 7-0, and we're just ripping the faces of opponents. We stormed Gonzaga and smoked them out for their 5th loss in that arena then lured St. Mary's in trapped them. Finally, Zombies. First and foremost I hope each and every one of you have a plan of attack for Z-Day because your brains are going to be zombie kibble before long. I would like to take this time and warn ya'll against shopping zombies. Ryu and myself were out on Black Friday and the sheer barbarity of some of these shoppers has me convinced that Black Friday could be the perfect day for Z-Day to be sprung on the general public. No one would know the difference. Its terrifying.

Thank You Veterans

So it is Veterans Day and I just want to take the time to thank all the Veterans out there for the service and sacrifice. It takes a certain type of person to give their life in service to protect and guard the people and freedom of this great country the Lord has bless us with. Thank you.

Along with that a bunch of us are hanging out at the house today and watching Band of Brothers, so come by and hang out.

Come to Bible Study Thursday at 8, we having been going through 1 Peter and it has been great. Also you get to stare at Ryu for an extend period of time. And after Bible Study around 10 we have Porch Nights where we hang out and there is usually free food and a random band involving Sinatra playing piano to the delight of everyone (mostly the ladies... okay the men too).

Getting Back To It

So it has been awhile since anybody posted anything.

My apologies to our 2 dedicated fans.

Anyway school has been underway now for 5 weeks. We are just getting to the first set of mid-terms, which everyone is clearly excited about. On a more negative note, for the first time EVER I am studying. Super weird, I know. I don't know if I like the whole school thing with that part thrown in. It's Mostly just this one class, who knew Ancient Greek was hard anyway? Enough about me on to what really matters.

For those of you unaware, the beastly yet beautifully bearded Crusoe is plej Master this go 'round. We have one plej currently, his name is "morrow" so if you see him be sure to ask him to do some menial task for you or what not. We are looking to maybe get a few more guys soon, so be praying for that.

Halo Reach has come out so it is now common to see many attractive men gathered in the Fortress to "one shot at my X" someone, to use the local jargon. Ryu continues to play Street Fighter.

To our great joy Banjo has returned to us, I look forward many songs with my name inserted in them in the future.

So far this semester is looking good. Bible Studies are coming soon, stay posted for that. Fifa will literally hurt you down and make you hurt if chores are not done, so the house is looking clean. Late night Sevie Runs are still common, apparently a new season of Glee has started. You can thank Seaweed for that info, I'm sure he will watch it with you if you have not seen it. And Guy Retreat is on the horizon. Stay tuned for more.

Heat and Comedic Things

It has been HOT as of late. I really wanted to say that its been hot as hell/hades but I have never been there nor will ever be going there ever. So, we'll just say that its hot as the Valley, or Mojave desert. Which brings me to point number one. Bert, our most esteemed alumni by the name of Akria Kosuge, got a job in the Mojave desert. Apparently you can get a job as either dying of heat exhaustion or melting from the heat. I don't know what exactly his job title is but it has to be one of these two options. But if there is one person that could find this job, its Bert, and yes, he got the job. Congratulations brother. Thank you in advance for talking my ear off about all the stories you have from Japan, "back when you were a pledge", or, due to your new job, what its like to be literally burnt to a crisp in the middle of no where.

In sports news, Penny Hardaway wants to join the Heat?! Haha, fool hasn't even played an NBA game in years. I guess that any player looking for that ring is going to come out of the woodwork. Charles "Chuck" Barkely apparently was dabbling with the idea of retiring from his job at T-Mobile and trying to join Wade, LeBron, and Bosh in their pursuit of a ring. Unfortunately for Chuck, he realized that he would actually have to trade his place in the buffet line for a basketball and he decided against it.

Another One Bites the Dust

Good Morning (un)Fortunate Reader. Today is a most odd day. The weather, cold and gloomy. My mood, bored and impatient for the Uruguay Netherlands game. Its very unSan Diegian. But, I am still very American.

In fact, one of my favorite American holidays, Independence Day, was 2 days ago. Just look at the flag. You've got the stars, and the stripes, and the red, and white, and blue, and it waves all pretty. It's gorgeous. It is for this reason, amongst others, that I will most likely break out in "USA! USA! USA!" chants during today's World Cup match.

I am sure you were wondering when I would get on some topic that had something to do with the title of this post. Well, here it is.

MELEE IS MARRIED!!!!! It was a BEAUTIFUL wedding in Grass Valley Norcal. It was a tad on the warm side at the beginning but cooled off nicely later on in the day. So, Chops and I, as the second generation torch bearers of this glorious blog, we only found it fitting to get a picture with the goon, errr I mean Groom, and the lovely bride.

Shoot the wedding was so beautiful it made me almost want to get married, but then I woke up from the daze and realized that I just don't rock the ball and chain very well. But then reality punched me in the face and I ALSO realized that as much as I love Paco, I don't want to have "The Gift" like Paco clearly does. I am conflicted. I was talking to him at the wedding, ok, well, he got caught in the perfect storm of my big bro Nikko, Crush, myself and Chops' mustache and upon questioning the validity of Paco's singleness and whether it was based on his blatant love for men he said that he "likes to keep them guessing." Now I'm no expert but it does seem apparent that there is some inner turmoil with our brother Paco. So this brings us to the following segment.

Summer Grunion of the Week goes to: PACO! The jury is still out as to whether you committed verbal faux pas or a lifestyle faux pas but you sir have done it. You are the first individual to get the summer grunion. Pat yourself on the back, you deserve it.

So world cup is in full swing at AGO. Early mornings are now filled with random cheering and the days are filled with constant talk about pools and who needs to beat who so that X team doesn't, or gets to, play Y team. My favorite part about it all is the recent implosion of France, which, because I'm a red blooded American, brings nothing but joy to my heart.

Speaking of American, the 4th of July is right around the corner. I will be wearing my American flag bandana, as usual. I suggest you get your America gear ready too or I will stab you with a flagpole that has an American flag attached to it. Its not a threat if its a fact is it? Hmmmm

This weekend everyone's favorite Epsilon hick is getting married. Congratulations Melee. As you inscribe your name on the Ball and Chain List I am trying to think of an appropriate send off from single life, and I can think of non other than, "May the Force be with You"

SUMMER GRUNION OF THE WEEK: Goes to Eta. Because not only is there nothing to do there, but now its starting to get facemeltingly hot.

This is a great weekend for San Diego and this blogger. Why? Because the Baltimore Orioles are playing the San Diego Padres everyday this weekend. The worst team in baseball with a record of 18-49 has come to America's finest city and I could not be happier.

The first game of the three game series was last night which Hack, Walrus and I happily attended. It was one of those "college nights" where us poor college students get in for $8.50, not a bad deal at all, except for the many intoxicated college "fans." In fact one very state-esk blonde spilt Walrus's drink, to which he responded with a very frustrated "Goo goo ga joob!"

One good thing about being an O's fan, we are impossible to heckle.

Padre's Fan: (To me) Orioles suck!

Me: Yeah, I know.

Padre's Fan: .......

So yeah, the O's racked up another loss giving up a lead in the bottom of the ninth, as expected, but I'm going to today and tomorrow's game if anybody wants to go. Let me know.

Look out Fresno

Jammer, Tux, Seaweed and I, being the committed men we are here at Epsilon are headed to Fresno for the week end to visit some fellow brothers at the Eta Chapter. The Iota Chapter, UC Davis is holding an event there for the next week or so. Why they decided of Fresno the world will never understand. Its looks to be a sweet time hanging out with guys and owning fools Epsilon style.

But lets face it they call it FresNO for a reason. That reason being: It sucks.

But the best part is that we get to stop in Bako on they way up and have lunch at beloved Rusty's.

Win.

Green Grass and High Tides and Concrete Bowls

The other day Hack, Chops and myself decided against our better instincts and decided to go skate. So we jumped in Chop's car and headed down to Memorial Skatepark down in the ghetto. To our dismay the park was randomly closed for "maintainence". Not to be discouraged we headed over to OB to skate the park there. After conquering a corner of the pool from the bikers, we proceeded to skate for the next couple hours or so. It is then that we noticed Hack's leg dripping of blood. And not just a small drip or anything like that, but streams of red lava dripping out from under his kneepad only to be soaked up by his sock. This was also when we decided that he should definitely keep skating because REAL MEN PLEDGE EPSILON. It had the biker punks wishing that they weren't so lame and were cool like Hack thats for sure

Also, the Celtic bandwagon seems to hit a bump in the road after last nights romp by the Lakers. Read my previous post to see which of our not-to-be-named brothers (*cough* Darko *cough*) could use some consolation right about now. Pray for him. Also, after watching this game, if D.Fisher, aka D.Clutch, were in AGO, it is clear that he would have been Epsilon, jus' sayin'. The man is hard and also, like all great Epsilon men, has a fantastic bald head to full beard thing going on which definitely gets him awesome points.

The purpose of this post was to show the sweet picture of Hack and talk about how amazingly clutch D.Fish is.

And So It Begins

Yes, It is true Crowder and I have restarted the AGO Epsilon blog. Why? Because we can.

In recent news, my fire ball throwing brother Ryu and I attended a Street Fighter 4 tournament at Frubble in Santee last night and watched the epicness go down. We played a few matches, hung out, Ryu owned some fools etc. Just a good time by the many nerds and surprisingly, two actual women in attendance. All while not drinking boba tea, cause its terrible.

It also utterly shatters my heart so say it is very sad day in the life of any State student. I found out today that Chipotle no longer has free drinks for students. "SAY IT AINT SO!" Crusoe says from Alaska. But it is so Crusoe, it is. Never again will I say "student" and receive a free drink, its an outrage, a down right travesty to freedom. I don't think I can live in a world where I have to pay for beverages, take me now Jesus.

Clearly, as I read through these posts, Sequel has etched his part in history as a man's man of bloggers. Cheers to that.

My currently DE-mustached brother Chops and I collaborated as I sit on Brian Couch (the glorious black love seat) and we feel that due to the changes that we need to update you one what has happened in the last two years.

In breaking news: LINDO IS DEAD. As you see from this picture, the Autobots are investigating the scene of the crime. For all you old alum don't worry, Chops is negotiating with Megatron as we speak and we'll keep you updated with the current news. Our beloved blue shack-of-a-house may be dead, but it will always live in our hearts.

In other news, we have a new house! It is located in Greek Circle right next to Delta Zeta and across the cul-de-sac from Alpha Epsilon Pi. May the Holy War commence! Just kidding. But our exact location is 5074 College Avenue for all of you

wondering where to send your alumni dues. Just in case you lost it in the shuffle you know? Also, as you see, America is still rep'd. Hard.

Including my Big Bro's unhealthy obsessions

Chops would like to meet Craig from craigslist. Initially this sounds dumb, but after putting my thinking cap on, I kind of want to meet Craig now. Inspiring Chops, truly inspiring.

Darko is a Celtics fan? I was shocked to find him posting these on his page. After two years of being in the house, and seeing Darko's eyes literally glaze over whenever I would talk about basketball, I am kind of excited to have someone else to talk smack to. You better get a comfy seat on the bandwagon Darko, 'cause after Game 1, it looks like its going to be a bumpy ride.

Finally, Summer Grunion of the Week goes to Alpha chapter for being Alpha. Why you always gotta be first in everything? Mark 9:35 - "...If anyone desired to be first, he shall be last..." Just a heads up.

As I finish this first post and I look out the window and see the sun setting over the beautiful San Diego skyline, I am reminded that it still sucks to be in Temecula right now. Sorry Hack.

Banquet!

There is nothing quite like banquet weekend for AGO and ADX. At AGO, there is a definite window of when EVERYBODY wants to take a shower. If you aren't one of the first three people to take a shower, I wouldn't count on having the warmest water for yours.

This semester, AGO held their banquet at the Butcher Shop steakhouse in Kearny Mesa. A most elegant location, complete with punch fountain. Shox did a great job finding a location. Awaiting each attendee at their seat was a terrific gift, an AGO embossed pint glass, complete with crest and "Spring 2008." Everyone was very impressed by such a quality gift.

As for the awards, well... some went as expected, and others had a few surprises. We even had a few new awards gain their first recipients.

-Athlete of the Semester: Puck (pogo-stick on the real)
-JA of the semester: Burton (awarded retrospectively for fall) and Agassi (Spring)

Unfortunately, Shox was unable to capture an unprecedented fourth Goon title, but Puck and I were more than happy to pass the mantle to Lego, who thoroughly deserved it.

All 4 speeches were fantastic. Remo had eveyrone in stitches, while Shox's had everyone's hearts warmed. It is going to be a very different house without the four of them next year.

Slacker + Story time

Geez... the way I update this thing (or lack thereof), you might think I don't care. BUT YOU WOULD BE WRONG. I just need that spark of inspiration. Well folks, today I have it. A) because it's a long day left and I finished class a long time ago, and B) because I have a story to tell.

Well, nix the story. I lost my inspiration. I had a long, drawn out tale in my head about how I would narrate the story of Rocko's adventures as a fugitive on his way to find Puck. But instead I'm gonna tell it straight: Puck leaves for work/class/things humans do... AGO doesn't close the door ever... Rock goes out looking for Puck. Normally, we get a call from someone who finds Rocko and then they bring him by. We laugh about it and then we put him in the Outhouse.

This one time, Animal Control called. They found Rocko. Normally Puck and I would have gone and gotten him that day (Sunday), but the pound was closed until Tuesday. So we had to leave Rocko in the pound for two days. A half an hour and $90 later, we were greeted with this face... (in a cage)...

As you can see, these pictures are the very face of joy/desperation/exhilaration/depression/elation/sadness all rolled into one. Rocko's eyes are just about heart-breaking in the top one. His wide-stance only enhances the emotion.

Long story short, Puck and I love Rocko.

As many lucky spectators and fans know, yesterday was AGO's open-mic night known as CAPTURED. Per uge, it went down as a tremendous success. Hopefully we can get some of it on YouTube soon so that you can re-live the memories over and over again.

Everyone seems to step up the game each time we hold one of these. There is so much talent in AGO. For example... Remo played guitar and used his feet to play an electronic drum kit. Can you do that?

A blogger left frustrated

Preface:
I think I've done a pretty good job of sticking with my description of AGO and AGO related activities in this blog. I don't put a whole lot of personal anecdote inside, so this entry is going to be a big departure from procedure. Thanks for understanding.

As the administrator of this blog, I would like to fully remove any endorsement of the "Not of This World" or "NOTW" company. I've never been one to wear their clothing, or more conspicuously put a sticker on my back windshield like much of the contemporary Christian world. I am a firm believer in keeping my car free of anything that might cause me to be a bad witness.

This of course, is where the reason for my unendorsement comes into play. I was driving to watch my beloved Arsenal Football Club with my good brothers Dink and Metro, when the 805 merge lane I was in came to an abrupt stop. Brakes skidded and an accident was narrowly avoided. However, it was when traffic had restarted that the treachery commenced.

As people started moving, I had driven about 25 feet before I was brutally cut off from the left side by an SUV. What was on the back of said SUV? Not a small, accessorized bumper sticker... but a huge 2'x3' mural involving the letters "NOTW", the initials of the Not of This World brand. A similar sticker can be seen in the picture below:

Now, I would not have been so mad if I had been cut off and there was no sticker. But the fact that this driver was so blatantly and unabashedly vandalizing their faith and witness with the back of their windshield drove me up a wall.

This blogger here has made a pact with himself that he will not put religious insignia or stickers on his car. Not that I go around cutting people off, but that I know that there will be times where it will happen. The last thing that I want to do is to hurt my witness because of an incidental driving maneuver.

And so I ask you, the believers of the world, to please take into consideration your actions behind the wheel, especially if you have a Jesus fish, or a NOTW sticker, or some other Christian emblem on your car. Also, please don't think that I am claiming some superiority because of what I choose/choose not to put on my car. That is not my intent at all. Just to expose something that I thought worthy of an entire entry.

Apparently UCSB students are much more receptive to flyering, says our chaplain Reed, currently in SB to help out Zeta chapter.

What if SDSU was more accepting of flyers? We'd probably be signing every petition and using up Dollar Stretchers by the hundreds. Well, one can't dwell on such small things.

Among other things, your faithful (use the term loosely) blogger is heading to Carson tomorrow to watch LA Galaxy take on San Jose Earthquakes with Metro, Dink, and one more. No, I will not say hi to David Beckham for you. Metro was kind enough to fund the tickets, and hopefully there should be some pictures. Pray that it does not rain. Brisk weather... okay... but rain is just unacceptable in this part of the country.

Things happened over the weekend.

A big one was Reed going to Mexico with Pi chapter via Amor Ministries. If you ever want to have a day's hard work and love it, go to Tijuana and hand mix a one foot deep, 11 x 22 foot slab. I've been on 6 of these trips, but each one is more rewarding than the last. Amor and AGO collaborations are backed.

Root Beer Kegger

Last night was the first ever AGO Root Beer Kegger, and all fingers point to success.

Thank you to everyone who came out and drank root beer or took on the world in energy-drink pong. MVPs of the night go to Moulin Rouge and Jumanji for absolutely destroying a Burton-Mayer team. Personally, I give props to anyone who could actually stand to put that Full Throttle stuff in their mouth. A bit too much "bleh" if you ask me.

Puck's brother, the aptly named DP3, kept the music going in the backyard. Dude is backed by yours truly.

And that's how we kick off spring break. Finish out your mid-terms and get into a week of hanging out. It couldn't come soon enough.

Poop d'etat

On Sunday, our house was the setting for another chapter in the on-going war between the canine and the Arab. I am talking about Rocko and Shox, respectively.

Now, the acts committed by Shox toward Rocko are of no importance to the story. All that needs to be known is that they were heinous, despicable acts that can only be described as preemptive and full of spite.

Henceforth, our championed hound Rocko took it upon himself to settle the score and end this battle the victor. While Shox was away for Easter, Rocko noticed that Shox's desk chair was in perfect position next to Shox's desk. Now, this feng shui has occurred numerous times before to no avail. But this time was different.

Rocko then hoisted himself up onto the chair, then up onto the top of the desk. After checking to make sure the coast was clear, he took the battle position. Putting his weight on his front paws, Rocko squatted and dropped his mark multiple times on Shox's desk, keyboard, and even into a desk drawer. It was pre-meditated and intentional.

However, this should not be mistaken for a barbarious act of terrorism, much like those of Shox that we will not utter here. Rocko acted out of self-defense and retaliation to defend the honor which is rightfully his. Our hearts go out to Rocko for having to act in such a strong manner, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

This was Rocko declaring in one voice: "I will not go quietly into the night! I will not vanish without a fight! I'm going to live on. I'm going to survive. Today I celebrate my INDEPENDENCE DAY."

And that's just what he did.

It's a bit of a weird day to be honest. It's the first Saturday of the semester where we have no event. Some of us don't know what to do with themselves. A few have gone to the beach, some to the Aquaplex. A strong contingent are hitting up Call of Duty IV, while your faithful blogger is enjoying some music in his quarters.

Wings Dudes Sports: March Madness

Late night cravings

I went out to the front room at about 1:45am to eat some chips and salsa that had been so gloriously been provided to me by my parents. My little bro, Shonen, came in to join me from the active room as well. I turned on the TV, and what did I see? None but one of my favorite films of all time: INDEPENDENCE DAY.

For those of you who don't know, I've seen ID4 almost 50 times since its theatrical release in 1996. However, something was different about this showing. There were ADDED SCENES! Added! Not only did I get to watch the film, but there was more film to watch! Gotta love re-edits that are actually done right. It was like watching a whole new, already awesome movie.

And so as I go to bed, I leave you with a stirring speech from our finest president, President Thomas Whitmore as he stands on the brink of the greatest undertaking in all of human history.

Parents Day recap + sports foreshadow

Aside from some weird weather last night, yesterday was also Parents Day at Alpha Gamma Omega. We had a great turnout, so big that we had to do things in turn at certain points of the day. It was a total testament to the growth of the house. We had well over 50 people at the house, actives and parents included.

Many parents were very interested in the state of the house and it was such a blessing to hear how much they care about our ministry here.

Notable happenings:
-Armani's dog barking a big game at Rocko, then running away any time Rocko took a step towards her
-Banjo's little dog attacking my foot for no other apparent reason than convenience
-Shox calling his dad the rich old fool as a child

On a personal note, my parents said that they had a great time. Depending on my summer plans, all are welcome to come to la casa de Sequel this summer if they'd like. Just call me the day before.

UNLV fought back from being more than 10 points down to take out BYU by 15 points yesterday. Knowing that BYU is out of the conference tourney does help sooth the pain that the Aztecs are out, too.

For those of you waiting for next year's sports seasons, you will not want to miss the goose that I've got cooking. Big things happening in 2008-2009.

What an awesome night it was with Kappa Delta! Catchphrase, Apples to Apples, Balderdash, BOWLING, and a barbeque. Recipes for brilliance.

We had an incredible time getting to know the girls, and from what we hear we were pretty good hosts. We are hoping that a good number will come to Bible study. God is too good.

Quill and I were kidnapped to an undisclosed location by three undisclosed assailants. If you have any information about this heinous act, please get in direct contact. Such acts must not go unnoticed.

Tomorrow night, Madame President Kix and I will be heading to Orlando, FL to attend a conference by Greek Intervarsity. Blogging should continue as normal, but if not, at least you know why. I care about my readers.

Homeward Bound + Razor ban

Guy Retreat has come and gone with a most relaxing success.

Nothing beats a weekend in God's creation. For me, quiet time out in the desert was the most rewarding it had ever been. A few questions answered, and a few choices made. Funny how it's easier to think when God is speaking right to you.

Wiffle ball is too much fun. The "old guys" (Beta Zetas and older) teamed up with the pledges to take on the rest of the active body. It came down to only a few runs. Wiffle ball should be in the Olympics.

Nikko and the cooking crew did a fantastic job providing two dinners for us. A fine night of carne asada and another of tri-tip. We weat well. Men take care of themselves when the situation arises.

I wish that everyone could have heard Reed's message over the weekend. Dude delivers the solid sermons.

Yesterday Reed, Dink, Melee, Shade, Versace, and myself headed into the AGO active room at 10pm for an event that has been named Power of Prayer. What do we do? Pray. No more, no less.

Biblically, we are called to pray without ceasing. And that's what we did. We lifted up anything and everything that came to our heads. There is nothing too small.

All are invited to come, even if you just want to sit and listen. Prayer brings about change!

The Aztecs lost by 10 to UNLV in Las Vegas tonight. That's all I'll say.

Weekend recap, AZTEC KILLER INSTINCT

Well, I've been out of the loop since Friday. I assure you that I am safe and still in one piece.

Founder's Day was an awesome day. We are now the 3rd largest chapter, and we had a pretty solid alumni attendance. Oso, Jig, Marmot, Shaq, Bert, and Hodad all made the trek.

Epsilon was totally blessed to win the Price. P. Trautwein award for administration for a second consecutive year. Our national president, Jim Johnson, had nothing but praise for the strides our chapter has made. We are so blessed to be a part of Epsilon at this part of our lives. The GPA award still eludes us...

After that is was to Barry Burnett, an Alpha alum who opens up his home after each FD for an after-party. It's a great time to fellowship with more brothers and alums from our house.

A few of us drove back a bit early in order to make it back for Aztecs vs. BYU at 8pm that night. After getting around some traffic, we made it inside right at tip-off. I found my normal spot in the second row and proceeded to lose my mind during the game. It was one of the best games I'd ever seen at Cox. The atmosphere was electric, as almost 10,000 people showed up to cheer. The student section was never louder. Aztecs 69, BYU 65. SUCK ON THAT.

Well, as most of us are now waking up from our encounter with the all nighter, a few stiff necks to be had. Rocko felt so bad for us that he threw up twice in the hall. Actually, it's probably from drinking out of the toilet, but it's more flattering the other way.

Serve Our Sisters was a success, despite nature's best efforts to have us hydroplane on the freeways. We made it to the airport safely. The lovely Ferrari, Corvette, and Versace rode in The Vibe with me from ADX, while Boca held it down for AGO with me. Glad he was there, or I'da surely fallen off on the way home.

Bible studies

Back to the ol' traditions of Epsilon, as tonight marks the start of Wednesday night Bible studies on the front lawn.

Mr. Brad Boca Young led us in worship with Puck and Remo. Gotta give it up to the man. There have rarely been better sounding angles as the cherubim choir send us their best notes.

Afterwards, Reed's sermon gripped us all in sweet bliss, as he related to us how God has a plan for us, thanks to a story about a boy named Joseph and his brightly colored coat.

Gotta love how it clears up for the night, especially after a bummer of a day time. God is good, enough said eh? AGO-Epsilon was also proud to welcome back a few of the ADX-Psi ladies to the house. Nothing beats San Diego in February, even on a cloudy day like today.

It's tough when you have to balance school, other involvements, and inching closer to a potential career.

The rest of the day went by pretty slowly, which is nice every now and then. Slow news day, though.

Our last 3 games have followed a disturbing decline.

1) Air Force: Play bad, but manage a win
2) TCU: Play bad, barely lose
3) New Mexico: Play dismally, lose dismally.

By the end of the game, Cox Arena was a ghost town. In the student section, only the bottom half was anywhere close to populated.

Kyle Spain's suspension was painfully felt. The post position seemed a bit lacking, with Pastorek and even Lamb having to pick up the slack. If you couldn't tell, "lacking" is a bit of an understatement.

Last year we were plagued by an inability to win away from home. This year, we are unable to play with consistent aggression and confidence.

With all of the fan preparations for the BYU game, let's hope it's better game than tonight.

Wednesdays are trouble days for me. I go to class at 10am, and besides an intermittent 3 hours of down time between a few classes, I go until 6:40 pm.

It's an important game for the Aztecs tonight, one of those nights that could easily shape how the rest of the season goes.

The Beach

Fallen falcons + animals

As expected, Mr. White made good on his promise with a nice two-handed jam in the second half. Aztecs fly higher than falcons apparently, and SDSU gets another Mountain West win.

It wasn't a great game by any means. SDSU didn't even make it to 50 points, the final score 49-38.

Some comfort should be taken, though. It's nice to know that we can play fairly bad and still come a way with a win. Granted, it helps when the other team plays poor, too.

For those of you who have not heard, AGO will NOT be moving out of our house at the end of May, as our building deadline was again pushed back. Am I surprised? Not at all. It means that I can get a dog in the summer once Rocko graduates with Puck, and that makes me very, very happy. I've never had a dog, you know.

Speaking of pups and dogs and canines and things of that nature, Charmander the pup is laying on my bed. AGO has become quite good at watching the little bugger, and he's become quite attached to me. He slept next to me on my bed all night.

Breakfast time. More peanut butter sandwiches until I can go grocery shopping. Probably sometime today.

Layin' out

Current status: Sitting against a wall in the Las Vegas Airport. Props to the people here for providing free wifi. Definitely the highlight of the trip, although I don't expect that to last as the highlight for too long.

Currently in our travel lesion are Reed, myself, Burton, Jaguar, Bemba, Krio, and Casper. We're havin' a pretty good time just hangin' out. We are keeping our fingers crossed that we get seats near each other for the flight to Indianapolis. None of us really feel like sitting alone for the monster leg of the trip.

As for being in Vegas, Reed and I allowed ourselves the liberty of the slot machines 8:45 in the morning. Reed lost $2, I lost $10. Welcome to Vegas, eh? God bless America.

For those of you unaware, and I apologize for the late pass, San Diego State beat the Rams of Colorado State 83-82 in a thriller in Fort Collins.

Ryan Amoroso emerged with a 23 pt., 11 reb. double-double, but it was Lorenzo Wade who sank a last minute 3 pointer to put the nail in the coffin.

I'm proud of the boys for sticking strong after a heartbreaking loss at Cox Arena on Saturday. Our next game comes at home against Air Force on Wednesday, Feb. 5. You'll find Epsilon in strong presentation, along with rushees. Keep an eye out, I have a few tricks up my sleeve to get the atmosphere just right.

Active Retreat + Pogo

As some of you may have heard, Epsilon's retreat in Crsestline was not to be. Road conditions, coupled with our severe lack of 4-wheel drive vehicles do make it a bit difficult. Instead, we found ourselves at the Thrive youth group building in Jamul. You could not have found a better replacement. Enough couches for all of us, a large projection screen, video games (too bad we couldn't get the NBA Jam Machine working), and an almost complete kitchen. I tell you, it was a sight to behold.

It was here that Puck and I discovered our new love: Freestyle Pogo. We're climbing up the world ranking. It's only a matter of time until you see us both on the X-Games. Still trying to figure out how we can take it to the half-pipe, though.

When our time in Jamul was done, we drove back to AGO, got cleaned up, and then had a very large, healthy dinner of BBQ Spare Ribs cooked by Shox. It was like we were eating the ribs of dinosaurs, the ribs were so big. I say this for size comparison only, because you know that no one should ever eat a dinosaur. Creatures of majesty should never be eaten, but allowed to roam free.

We then headed to Howard's church, where we were blessed with a night of worship and an incredible message from Howard about unity. No one left the building without being broken before God, and that's what it's all about. Come say hello to us as we pass out flyers for rush before the 7pm service of the Rock.

Retreat prep

Preparations are currently being made for Active Retreat this weekend, including the purchase of a half ton ox to pull our luggage up the mountain, as none of us really feel like buying chains.

Said David Shokair about the ox:
"It's really a great animal. We can strap all of our gear to it and not even have to worry about gas or chains."

Also purchased was 1,000 lbs. of pork ribs, with enough sauce to use as shampoo, should we run out. Needless to say, all of us are pretty excited about the thought of lathering some KC Masterpiece.

Aztecs vs. Wyoming review + stomach grumbles

Aztecs were expected to beat Wyoming handily, and they did.

Thanks to a 19-0 run to open the first half, the Aztecs held Wyoming to ZERO POINTS for almost 8 minutes. Wyoming barely scored more than 10 in the first half.

Second half was sloppy on both teams, but the damage was done. You could tell the crowd was not as into it, just more wanted to put Wyoming out of their misery. The clock couldn't run fast enough. Another great game from Ryan Amoroso. We almost witnessed a two-handed jam from the man, but a cheesy foul prevented that. Lorenzo Wade again made up for it by again throwing the hammer down. Kyle Spain knocking down 3-pointers was comforting as well.

Final score, 70-43 in favor of Fischer's boys.

It was sad not seeing McClane, aka the Rat, on the bench for Wyoming. Gonna miss that dude. Other than that, my only complaint was that we wore those white uniforms again. I wish they'd wear the red ones, so much more pleasing to the eye.

Aztecs review + more tomfoolery

Confidence in your team pays off. Aztecs recovered from a below-average performance in the first half (finished down by 10) to leg it out for an overtime victory, 64-56.

The atmosphere in Cox Arena was second to none. It wasn't just reserved to the student section. I remember there being one bad call on Amoroso where everyone in the arena stood up and yelled. It was probably my favorite moment of the game that wasn't related to Lorenzo Wade's ferocious dunk. Only conference play can inspire such a livid environment.

I'm heading up the 15 tonight to hang out with Blitz, where I'm sure there will be multiple instances of girlish laughter as we paint our nails and braid our hair. After that we are going to wax our legs. If none of that works out, we'll probably play video games. The girlish laughter will stay a while, though.

It is my goal to find some way to sabotage Shox's graduation so that he has to remain at SDSU for at least one more semester. Not because I don't want him to leave, but because he'd be so angry. Please comment with your suggestions.

Aztecs vs. Utah preview

Tomorrow night Montezuma's legions return to Aztec Bowl to play Utah... who are the Utes, a mythological idiocy that doesn't even sound intimidating on a "Visit our state" pamphlet.

Until a few years ago, this series has been incredibly one sided, with Utah holding a commanding 50-11 record against the Aztecs. Even in San Diego, the Aztecs are 8-19 against Utah.

San Diego State, however, is coming off a strong victory at The Pit in New Mexico, which is probably a better description of that entire state. This gives the Aztecs the confidence of a 2-0 record in the Mountain West.

I am confident that the Aztecs will win this game. Last year when the Utes came to die... err, I mean play... the Aztecs played a ferocious game, emerging victorious on two counts. The first, that they beat Utah into a bloody submission, complete with the aerial stunts that Jerome Habel was so kind enough to give for free. Second, that yours truly was awarded the "Loud Mouth of the Game" award. I do not take this award lightly, and will be vying to repeat in this fixture. This is also an advantage that the Aztecs should not take as nonchalant.

I leave you now to rest for the night. I have an 8 am train to catch tomorrow. I will be wearing red and black tomorrow, the colors of my heart and blood, respectively. You may decide which colors which. COME ON YOU AZTECS!

As I sit here at work, I'm sure that a small number of NFL-faithful are watching the playoffs on television at AGO. Italy made the trek to our house so she wouldn't bother her roomates with gridiron-entertainment the entire day. You'll most likely be able to find Nasa, Shonen, and Darko, along with a few others glued to the telly.

That being said, I'm not that into the NFL. I can watch college football all day and every day. The NFL just bothers me.

That's the slogan for the best fast food restaurant on our good planet, Chik-Fil-A. Myself, Blitz, Nasa, and my boy Quill took a drive to Point Loma tonight for some poultry and waffle fries. And as usual, CFA delivered. I'm partial to the #8 combo, aka 12 nuggets with cole slaw, fries, and a cool beverage. Equally as nice as the meal was the calendar for 2008 that we received, complete with spoof-CFA ads, as well as COUPONS that can be redeemed in each respective month. January is a free chicken sandwich, so get on it!

That was the biggest event of today. It's actually kinda warm in the Swamp right now, thanks to Reed allowing us to borrow his mini-heater. I call it "El Inferno."

Poll question: do you ever feel terrible for waking up too late?

Something must be getting into this house, as people are starting to get a bit more adventurous with their day. Sure, most of us are still playing Halo & FIFA 08 or making the most of our Fox Soccer Channel subscription, but every now and then we get a reason to walk past our mailbox and out into the world. Today, Shade and I walked across campus in search of an open ticket booth to get our tickets for tomorrow's Aztec game (preview in tomorrow's entry). Were we successful? No. Did we have a great time anyways? Yes.

After the dinner period was finished, Reed, Nikko, Puck, Crush, and myself went to the ARC for some late night sports. Nikko and I played a bit of indoor footie, while the other three played basketball, joining us when they had finished. We even saw Kix and Flamingo (ADXs) upon our entrance.

In the early morning and afternoon tomorrow I'll be hanging out with my blogging partner, Italia. We're sure to have something to right about.

Something happened!

My word... what is going on? Something actually happened today!

After another day of thorough lounging, Reed, myself, Jaguar (ADX), and Italia (ADX blogger) rolled out to Kearny Mesa to watch Lotus play in his basketball league. His housemate and Epsilon alum Blitz was there, too.

Lotus' team lost, but it was not without its quality moments, namely a fancy behind-the-back pass courtesy of Lotus.

After that it was off to Taco Bell for some post-sporting laughter and stories about trash talking from the TCU game. I'm so incredibly proud to be an Aztec. Red and black, hail to our team!

Aztecs + Achievement + Visitors

As to be expected, our fantastic Aztecs won tonight over TCU. The first half was clearly dominated by SDSU, as TCU was held to a mere 13 points for the first 20 minutes. The second half was more of a draw, with both teams playing a little on the dismal side. But in the end, Aztecs go 1-0 for conference play. To the top!

In the most important news of the day, our resident World of Warcraft athlete, Quill, has reached the monumental milestone of level 70. Congratulations, Quill! Don't you see what over 360 hours in front of a computer can get you?

We also have a visitor in the house! On loan from Ms. Luganda of Alpha Delta Chi is her puppy Charmander. He is currently sitting in his bed behind me, but took a few moments out of his schedule for a photo opp with your blogging friend.

Aztecs vs. Texas Christian PREVIEW + Rainy Day

Today the Aztec Empire goes up against the Horned Frogs of TCU in men's basketball. Last year we didn't play so well in this match up at home, and it was not as strong of a victory as it could have been.

"The Aztecs enter Saturday's contest with a Cox Arena-record 12-game homecourt winning streak and a seven-game MWC winning streak at Cox Arena. The Aztecs have not lost a home game since a 66-65 setback against Wyoming on Jan. 3, 2007.

San Diego State has quietly compiled an impressive non-conference resume. The Aztecs are 10-3, matching the second-best start in 38 seasons at the Division I level. SDSU has done so despite having to blend six new players with seven returning letterwinners to this season's squad. SDSU has also played just five home games to date, with two of the three losses coming to the number two-ranked RPI team (Arizona) and the number three-ranked RPI squad (Saint Mary's), nationally. Needless to say, I expect us to start off our conference play with a delightful victory. It's been fun playing all of the random teams, but nothing beats conference play.
